To be eligible for a return, the product must be unused, in its original condition, and accompanied by proof of purchase. Once the returned item is inspected and approved, we will process a refund or exchange as requested.

• HOW LONG WILL MY COWHIDE RUG LAST? A well-cared-for cowhide rug lasts for decades — often a lifetime. Unlike synthetic rugs that flatten and fade within a few years, real cowhide gets better with age. The leather develops a natural patina, becoming softer and richer over time. Many of our customers have had theirs for 20+ years and still love them.
• WILL THE RUG I RECEIVE LOOK LIKE THE PHOTO? If you're shopping from our Actual Photos collection, yes — you receive the exact hide pictured. Every photo in that section shows the specific rug you'll get. For our best seller collection, each hide shares the same color family and pattern style shown, but because every hide is natural, yours will have its own unique markings. Think of it as genuinely one-of-a-kind, not a compromise.
• DO I NEED A RUG PAD? No. The natural suede leather backing grips most floor surfaces on its own and keeps the rug smooth and in place. No rug pad needed — and no additional products to buy.

• IS IT PET-FRIENDLY? Completely. The smooth surface means pet hair doesn't embed into fibers — it wipes off easily. Accidents clean up fully without leaving odors trapped in the material. Most pets are naturally drawn to cowhide for its warmth and texture, and the leather is durable enough to handle claws without damage. It's genuinely one of the best rug materials for pet owners.
• IS IT SAFE FOR PEOPLE WITH ALLERGIES? Yes — and this is one of cowhide's biggest advantages over synthetic and woven rugs. The smooth natural surface doesn't trap dust, pollen, or pet dander the way fiber rugs do. Allergens sit on top rather than settling inside, and a simple shake removes them. Our Brazilian cowhides meet Oeko-Tex® standards, independently tested and free from harmful substances. • WILL IT SHED? Minimal shedding is normal in the first few weeks as the hair settles in. After that, with basic care, shedding is negligible for the life of the rug. To keep it minimal from day one, vacuum on low suction with no beater brush, and keep it out of prolonged direct sunlight. That's genuinely all the maintenance it needs.

• HOW DO I CLEAN IT? This is where cowhide surprises most people. Spills? Blot immediately with a dry cloth, then wipe with a lightly damp cloth and a drop of mild soap — always in the direction of the hair. Dust? Give it a gentle shake outside. That's the entire cleaning routine. No steam cleaning, no professional cleaning, no specialty products. Ever.
• WHAT SIZE DO I NEED? The most common mistake is going too small. As a guide: for a living room, place the rug so that at least the front legs of your sofa rest on it — this anchors the seating area and makes the room feel intentional. For a dining area, the rug should extend at least 24 inches beyond the edges of the table on all sides so chairs stay on the rug when pulled out. When in doubt, size up.
• WHAT IF THE SIZE OR COLOR ISN'T RIGHT WHEN IT ARRIVES? We offer free exchanges on size or color. If it doesn't work in your space, contact us and we'll cover the shipping on your replacement. No restocking fees, no complications. We want you to love what ends up in your home.

Each rug is meticulously handcrafted using natural materials and hand-trimmed to achieve the perfect shape. It's normal to notice some loose hair or light shedding during the first six months.

To maintain your rug, shake off the dust with a broom or vacuum gently at least once a week using low suction and avoiding the beater brush, which can cause damage. Regular, light vacuuming can help minimize shedding over time.

Keep your rug out of prolonged direct sunlight to prevent fading. Rotate it every 3–6 months to ensure even wear and maintain its appearance over time.

For Spills, soak up with a paper towel or sponge immediately. Remove solid matter with the blunt edge of a knife by scraping gently in the direction of the hair. Then, wipe with a damp (not wet) sponge or cloth using mild soapy solution.

A rug pad is not necessary, as the natural suede backing of our rugs adheres well to the floor, keeping them smooth and in place.
